This is an opportunity for an experienced risk professional to join local government on an initial 2-month contract with possible extension.
Your new role
Your new role will see you assisting with the risk and insurance activities including:
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of risk and insurance register
- Maintain and coordinate reporting for Insurance and Risk management committees
- Processing insurance claims for public liability – determination and investigation with internal departments
- Provide information to stakeholders including members of the public, representatives from other government agencies and internal stakeholders regarding risk management practices and internal and external insurance enquiries
What you'll need to succeed
Substantial experience in the management of insurance claims and the provision of advice in relation to risk management functions and activities.
Sound knowledge of the process and legislative environment of insurance claims and Risk management, including knowledge and understanding of the Local Government Act 2009, Local Government Regulation 2012 and other associated acts required and AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management – Guidelines.
Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external customers
Ability to work autonomously
