ABOUT US

Atunypa Wiru Minyma Uwankaraku Service is a domestic and Family Violence support and advocacy service for Aboriginal women and children living in the NPY region.  The service is informed by a holistic and relational understanding of violence which acknowledges the key role of family and community relationships in working effectively with indigenous clients.  The service provides holistic case management, and facilitates group work within a community development framework for women and children experiencing domestic and Family Violence.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Intake and Assessment Worker is integral to the Domestic & Family Violence Service. Within these roles, you will be responsible for responding to referrals received for women across the NPY Lands, who are experiencing, or at risk of, domestic and Family Violence. The intake phone line is often the first point of call for women experiencing violence on the NPY Lands and is a vital aspect of DFVS service delivery. You will work closely with DFVS Caseworkers and the DFVS Community Programs team to provide holistic support in alignment with Strengthening Community Capacity to End Violence Framework, which can be found on our website.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidates will have relevant degrees in Social Work, Community Development or related undergraduate or post-graduate qualifications. Extensive experience in the domestic and Family Violence or similar service delivery context would be highly regarded.
