With close to 10,000 mobile devices deployed to sworn officers across the state, the MCC seeks to continue the digital transformation for the police and community safety portfolios, allowing them to provide effective and efficient services to the people of Queensland.You will use your subject matter expertise to undertake complex integration development critical to the frontline operation of QPS. You will influence MCC development partners in integrating mobile capabilities into core QPS backend systems (such as QPRIME, QCAD, ITAS) as well as third party systems, enabling secure, efficient, reliable, resilient software capability in a time sensitive emergency service environment.MCC has a diverse workforce with a mix of sworn officers, civilian staff, contractors, and delivery partners engaged. The team works from Makerston House, Brisbane CBD with some flexible remote working arrangements available by agreement.Your key accountabilitiesThe core capability requirements for this role are:
- Provide complex specialist software development through service oriented and event driven architecture.
- Develop comprehensive and elegant code solutions to complex business problems, ideally using C#.NET .NET Core and Framework.
- Build and consume reliable and scalable web services, including SOAP services and RESTful APIs using tools such as ASP.NET Web API or similar technologies.
- Create and maintain Docker Containers, configure Docker images and use Docker Compose for multi-container applications.
- Provide high level software development quality assurance of products delivered by internal and external suppliers, that provides crucial and time sensitive information to frontline police officers.
- Research, develop and recommend appropriate standards and protocols to ensure best practice and the mitigation of risk in an emergency services setting.
- Work within an Agile software development team as the QPS subject matter expert to collaborate, negotiate and influence stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of critical solutions to the QPS.
- There are no mandatory requirements for the role
- Tertiary qualifications in ICT and/or relevant industry certifications particularly relating to AWS Lambda and API gateway would be highly regarded.
- Experience working with SQL Server to optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues with queries, stored procedures, and functions would be highly regarded.
