We have a 6 month fixed term contract role through Integrity Executive for a Management Accountant for a State Government organisation in East PerthHourly rate is $50.43 plus super6 month contractBased in East PerthPlease contact Dave if you would like to discuss this position or to applyKey role of this positionProvides management and financial accounting services to the Divisions, ensuring that current practices and procedures are adopted and that they are consistent with policy and relevant legislative requirements. The position holder is also responsible for developing financial and budgeting requirements for divisional operations, workforce, maintenance and asset replacement plans.Core duties and responsibilitiesDivisional Accounting·Coordinates, prepares, and monitors operating and capital budgets and forecasts for the respective Divisions.· Assists in the development of an integrated asset management and maintenance services system, including financial and budgeting analysis of maintenance plans for the respective Divisions.· Monitors and reports on budgets, forecasts and expenditure for the Division’s capital and operating work programs and initiates investigations on significant variances and provides feedback to branch managers.· Develops costing models to assist in the Division’s financial analysis and evaluation of strategic business decisions.· Initiates the preparation of suitable management reports that will assist in the organisation’s decision making process.· Provides financial input to business reviews.· Prepares and codes payments to creditors, invoicing of external works and maintenance of payments on purchasing cards.· Prepares, analyses and presents detailed management reports and KPI’s.·Prepares divisions’ components of monthly Financial Reports to Executive including variance analysis.· Determines month end adjustments and prepares journals.Corporate Accounting·Reconciles Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss items.·Assists in the preparation and completion of accounts and KPI’s for inclusion in the Annual Report ensuring compliance with the accounting policies, the Financial Management Act and Australian Accounting Standards.·Contributes to the development and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures throughout in relation to budgets and uniform standards.· Manages the recovery of damages to property and external works invoicing process.·Provides input into the strategic plan.·Carries out ad hoc investigations, prepares reports and undertakes other duties as required.Divisional Leadership and Management·Provides consultative/advisory services to other divisional accountants in areas of technical expertise.·Presents financial reports and provides financial input to quarterly Divisional performance review meetings.·Provides financial advice and support to the Division’s management team.·Contributes to the annual business planning cycle.Other Duties
- Represents the Branch and/or manager at meetings as required.
- Substantial experience in the use of complex financial management systems in an operational environment as well as sound expertise using spreadsheets.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.
- Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills including;
- Sound experience in the development of accounting policies, procedures and systems.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with a proven ability to analyse complex financial information and data from an operational perspective.
- Well-developed time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Satisfactory completion of required medical examinations to verify physical fitness to perform the duties of the position.
