This is a Pool process with permanent, full time opportunities.

Currently, there are two permanent positions available for immediate filling.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Intelligence Services assists the Corrective Services Division of the Department of Justice (the Department) to meet its mission by informing tactical, operational, and strategic decisions in respect of security and safety through the:

  • Collection of unique and relevant intelligence
  • Sound intelligence assessment and advice
  • Timely dissemination to the appropriate audience.

The Intelligence Support Officer (Collection) will provide administrative and Intelligence Support to the Intelligence Collection (Collection) team in identifying threats to the safety and security of offenders and staff in custodial facilities and the Community Corrections environment. The Intelligence Support Officer (Collection) supports multi-disciplinary teams in carrying out operational activities to identify and maximise intelligence opportunities.

    Please provide examples to support your claims.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate relevant information within large volumes of raw information.
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and succinct information in a timely manner.

All remaining Job Related Requirements will be assessed at a later stage in the recruitment process.

Pool Recruitment

This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.

ELIGIBILITY

It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL ONE security clearance as a condition of employment and maintaining the clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL ONE security clearance.
