Duties

Provide consultation and advice to facilitate the delivery of the Intensive Family Engagement Service (IFES) program by non-government providers to meet the support needs of families and provide for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people during the service provision period.Utilising a Signs of Safety approach, work in partnership with families, service providers, relevant Agency staff and community support services to facilitate a process of continual service improvement that ensures that IFES provides a service that suits the needs of families.Coordinate the regional referrals of families to the IFES program and provide ongoing support to IFES service providers and families.

Period of Appointment

Two permanent, ongoing positions available.

Hours per fortnight

76 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).

Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
    1. crimes of violence
    2. sex related offences
    3. serious drug offences
    4. crimes involving dishonesty
    5. serious traffic offences
  2. Identification check
  3. Disciplinary actions in previous employment check.
