- This role is Temporary (until February 2025) Full-time, 76 hrs/fortnight.
- Availability requirements for this role are Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm (and occasional night or weekend shifts as per business needs).
- As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for the final candidate.
- If you are successful for this role, you will be required to obtain a National Police Check
- Lead and manage a team of Interior Design co-workers and inspire and challenge them to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation and home furnishing solutions in room settings, homes, vignettes, and sales support areas.
- Maintain deep and up-to-date knowledge about home furnishing, retailing and trends in order to support the Com&In manager to facilitate workshops that generate creative directions that inspire and captivate visitors with strong visual impressions.
- Actively support in the development of the department action plan with Interior Design initiatives that are focused on growing the business and support long-term profitability and execute agreed plans together with the Com&In team and other functions.
- Be responsible for the recruitment and competence development of Interior Design Co-workers and secure successor planning by coaching and mentoring your team through set reviews and on the job conversations.
- Actively cooperate with all key stakeholders within commercial and beyond and be responsible for adapting Interior Design solutions for market specific needs to create a better everyday life for the many people.
- An inspiring and motivating leader who is passionate about of home furnishing and people's everyday lives at home, able to reflect the IKEA identity and create visual impact in all commercial, sales support and co-worker areas.
- Adaptable to change and embrace challenges, together with your team you are willing to further strengthen the IKEA brand and exceed the expectations of our customers.
- Managerial experience in Interior Design or visual merchandising leading people and projects in a retail environment or home furnishing sector is preferred but not essential.
- Broad knowledge of trends that influence home furnishing, retail design and communication to gain insight to a more appealing products' presentation for customers as well as of how to steer the customers to the right product or service for their needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work innovatively and collaboratively with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Clear technical strengths, with experience working with graphic design software and production tools including InDesign, Revit, Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
