Intermediate Accountant

About 

Our client is a fast-growing multidisciplinary financial services firm looking for a talented and motivated Intermediate Accountantto join their dynamic and growing accounting team. 

Due to a steady line of work and growth within the firm, they are looking to add an Intermediate Accountant to support the tax and accounting team in a thriving Melbourne office. This is a substantial opportunity for you to work and learn from senior members of the team as well as the other divisions.

In this role, you'll assist in a diverse range of tasks including but not limited to;  

• Completing tax returns and financials for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
• Identifying and implementing opportunities for better tax outcomes and wholistic outcomes
• Completing Income Tax returns for clients
• Preparing Business Activity Statements for clients
• Working in a team and assisting mangers where possible
• Preparing financial statements to current clients of the Employer and the Group Companies
• Dealing with clients and building relationships with existing and new clients
• Attendance and assistance of client meetings with senior consultants
• Maintaining all taxation compliance and legislative requirements and procedures required
• Contributing to training in accounting and taxation issues for other employees of the Employer; and
• Participate in Employer group activities and trainings

  
Skills & Attributes 

• 1+ years’ accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office - essential
• Experience completing Australian tax returns
• Aptitude to learn and develop
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and internal teams
• Ability to take instruction
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience and an understanding of Xero practice manager would be beneficial

  
Qualifications / Education 
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA or CPA commenced/completed
