We are a boutique accounting firm located in Burwood East, with an excellent working environment. We have a close-knit team of 2 partners plus 10 members on staff. We are part of a larger business group with additional offices in the CBD that house our associated financial planning and SMSF administration division. Our firm has grown over the recent years and is need of an enthusiastic accountant that can work with our firm for the long term.
Our client base includes a significant number of large multi-entity private businesses and high net worth family groups with a particular focus on the medical & dental industry. This is exciting opportunity will suit a suit a candidate who will benefit from working closely with a Managing Tax Partner & other senior accountants who all enjoys mentoring staff in a progressive environment with opportunities to support your professional development well into the future.
Earley opportunities will be provided for direct client contact and to oversee the full production of financial accounts through to partner review. Our office is located in spacious and quiet surrounds away from the main road with allocated car parking provided as well as a close by tram stop on Burwood Highway.
There are opportunities for some Work from Home (WFH) that can be tailored to the successful candidate however this role will be a majority in office position in Burwood East.
Job Description
Technical
· Preparation of Income Tax Returns for individuals, partnership, trusts & companies.
· Preparation of Financial Statements for reporting and non-reporting entities.
· Preparation and reconciliation of BAS/IAS/PAYG.
· Monitoring BAS lodgements, tax lodgement and other due dates.
· Attend to client setup and registration of corporate entities requirement.
· Dealing directly with the Australian Taxation Office on behalf of clients with respect to assessments, payment arrangements, penalty and interest remission, queries, rulings audits and objections.
· Client bookkeeping assistance where required.
· Complete all work in accordance with tax and accounting legislative requirements.
· Take on of newly referred clients from both internal and external partners
Client Support
· Handling prospective leads and new client enquiries
· Attend and support client meetings and appointments
· Act as a point of contact for clients
· Ensure clients receive a consistent and high-quality service
· Attend to client meetings with the managing partner or other senior accountants
· Assist internal advisers with adhoc advisory projects
· Contribute to the improvement of business systems and processes
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years' experience in a chartered or CPA environment
· Minimum bachelor degree from an Australian University, majoring in Accounting
· Completed or about to complete CA/CPA/IPA qualification or demonstrate equivalent knowledge of work history in an Australian firm.
· Sound technical knowledge in tax – GST, CGT, FBT, PSI rules, Div7a
· Proficiency in Xero accounting & tax software knowledge will be advantageous.
· Excellent attention to detail
· Well-developed interpersonal skills
· Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
· A pleasant and professional approach and presentation
