What you'll be doingThe vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.The Diabetes Centre provides nursing, allied health and medical management and education to Hospital patients and people living in the community who have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.The Diabetes Centre provides outpatient clinics which include Endocrinologists, Diabetes Nurse Educators, Podiatrist, Dietitians and Optometrists.The Diabetes Centre also supports the inpatient management of patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes within POWH.Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. - Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
- Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development
- A demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of health care services
- Proven ability in innovative clinical service delivery, harm minimisation and practice development
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills that demonstrate the ability to engage, enable and manage teams
- Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services.
- Recent acute clinical experience
- Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision-making process that impact on positive patient outcomes
