If you want to make a difference by helping shape a healthier, better-protected Australia, read on.
The opportunity:
We are sourcing an Internal Audit Manager to join our team at AIA Australia based in Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, you will plan and conduct risk-based audits, reviews, and other special projects to provide insights and recommendations to our business. Our Internal Audit function is assigned to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management’s systems of internal control as well as the company’s compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. This opportunity would suit an experienced internal or external auditor within the financial services industry or someone with strong Internal or IT Audit focus.
To do this successfully you will:
Provide the board, senior management and regulators with an independent assessment of our company’s ability to manage and control risk
Advise business managers on ways of enhancing their business’ capacity to manage risk
Identify key risks across the business, considering the relevant strategies and business environment
Plan, lead and complete audits, reviews and other special projects across AIA operations in Australia
Ensure that working papers, draft audit reports and other deliverables meet internal standards and assignments are completed within budgeted time
Provide professional advice and insights to management to enable more informed decisions and enhance their capacity to manage risk
Lead discussions of issues and remedial action plans with the appropriate levels of management
Oversee outstanding audit issues and monitor timely completion of agreed remedial actions by management
Partner with financial auditors to assess application IT controls related to key business processes
Successful applications will demonstrate:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business and successful completion of CA, CPA or other relevant postgraduate qualification
Extensive audit experience in the financial services sector (insurance focus would be highly regarded)
Solid understanding of risk management, IT principles and processes
The ability to use data analytics, including audit interrogation software
Experience working as part of a team and being able to motivate the audit team
Why choose AIA:
At AIA, we’ve made a promise to help people live healthier, longer, better lives. And it starts with our own people.
Access our training and development to build on your current skills
Career development through internal mobility opportunities
Work for a business helping millions of Australians and make a difference to someone’s life everyday
Access additional leave days a year to recharge and refresh yourself
Enjoy wonderful Health and Wellbeing initiatives that support you
Flexible working arrangement
At AIA Australia, we’re proud to help guide, support and protect the wellbeing of over 3.5 million Australians. As part of the AIA Group - the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group – it is our ambition to engage one billion people to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives by 2030.
Lots of companies like to say they’re different. What makes us truly different at AIA, is the difference we make in people’s lives. We are proud that this difference has been recognised in the 2023 ANZIIF awards by being named Life Insurance Company of the Year.
