Job Description

A rare opportunity has become available for an Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our growing Impact and Corporate Relations team. As a team, you will be responsible for building awareness of the positive impact of McDonald’s with a key focus on continuously advancing and protecting the company’s reputation as well as building trust with our stakeholders.
In this exciting new role, you will collaborate with the Senior Manager Corporate and Internal Communications to develop and deliver an effective Internal Communications strategy. This is in aid of supporting our business and impact goals and building employee engagement and advocacy. Based between our Thornleigh and CBD office and home, this flexible opportunity calls for an agile Communications professional with an enthusiasm for all things People.
What are the main focus points of the role?
- Working with teams across the business to improve connectivity through high-quality communications. Challenging ways of thinking to find the best stories and opportunities.
- Providing high-quality drafts and/or copy-editing for a variety of internal communication materials including articles, emails, video scripts and intranet content.
- Managing internal communication channels and content, including the McDonald’s Australia intranet.
- Maintaining a master editorial calendar to ensure internal and external message alignment, sequencing, and deployment.
- Providing internal communications expertise and support for internal engagement events such as Staff Meetings and CEO Business Updates.
- Drafting relevant LinkedIn posts for members of the Senior Leadership Team, including the CEO and CPO, promoting engagement with our employer brand.
- Managing Impact and Corporate Relations Calendars and Newsletters
Qualifications
What skills do I need to be successful in the role?
- At least 3 years’ experience delivering internal communications in a matrix organisation
- Ability to build rapport and maintain robust stakeholder relationships
- Pro-active approach to tasks and outcomes focused
- Curious and resilient, not afraid to ask questions
- Excellent time management skills, suited to a fast-paced environment
- Ideally a bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Ideally experience working with web-based CMS platforms
