And we do this with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a firm commitment to training and development, and dedicated leaders who believe that every day is a new day to see new opportunities.YOUR ROLEAs the Internal Controls Analyst, your primary responsibility is to support the BA APAC Internal Controls Lead in implementing the Internal Controls Essential Program, ensuring readiness for compliance with the new UK Controls Act. You will follow Bunzl Group Internal Controls' direction and assist in monitoring the program's progress for KPIs, tracking open controls deficiencies across all APAC businesses, and fulfilling other reporting requests to PLC. Additionally, you will collaborate with the APAC Internal Controls Lead and BU Management on any control gap remediation and improvement projects.
- Maintain the Risk and Controls Matrix (RACM), conduct controls testing, and coordinate risk and controls self-assessments, including some IT General Controls.
- Assist the BA APAC CFO in maintaining finance-related policies and procedures in line with controls objectives in the Bunzl Controls Framework, ensuring consistent application across business units (BUs).
- Support training and development activities for BU IC process owners, especially during the rollout of new control requirements and PLC requests.
- Aid BUs in preparing for audits, such as performing pre-audit checks on critical controls scoped for external audit and common audit findings.
- Coordinate Group risk and compliance reporting requests.
- Advocate for the adoption of Governance Risk and Compliance and Microsoft 365 systems and applications.
- Monitor and proactively follow up with BU Management on the progress of agreed actions for control gaps, ensuring timely remediation. Provide guidance and hands-on support when necessary.
- You should have a minimum of four years' experience in a similar role, preferably with a large complex organization or Big4 first mover in risk & audit/finance governance, Sox controls compliance equivalent exposure.
- Working knowledge of the most recent controls methodology is essential, along with expertise in process and control evaluation, deficiency management, and process improvement.
- Strong research and analytical skills are a must, as is the ability to confidently communicate with a range of audiences and build relationships within Bunzl and across external stakeholders.
- You should engage effectively with risk, gather and draw on information to drive different approaches, and demonstrate a growth mindset, self-reliance, and a focus on results.
- Autonomy in structuring time and tasks to achieve outcomes is key, as is a willingness to help and guide others to address any policy and controls questions.
