We are seeking a capable and motivated Internal Recruitment Officer to join our very busy HR team at the Parklea Correctional Centre. This role is of paramount importance, and we are therefore seeking a suitably experienced individual who can deliver end to end recruitment services, from initial job requisition through to offer, onboarding and orientation.
Duties includes but are not limited to:
• Working closely with hiring and department managers to understand their staffing needs and vacancies
• Creating job ads and building relationships with external bodies (such as TAFE’s, Universities) in order to attract suitably qualified applicants
• Reviewing applications to identify potential candidates for roles
• Pre-screening applicants
• Scheduling and coordinating interview panels
• Collating interview information
• Coordinating pre-employment checks including psychometric and medical assessments, police checks, security checks, working with children checks etc
• Reference checking to verify their work history, qualifications, and performance
• Preparation and submission of security clearance documentation to Corrective Services NSW
• Making offers of employment
• Arranging and coordinating onboarding and orientation programs
• Keeping detailed recruitment records
• Assisting with other recruitment and HR administrative duties as required.

• Has proven experience as a recruiter in a fast-paced environment
• Offers highly developed communication skills with an eye for detail
• Has the proven ability to adapt in a changing environment and work with challenges during the hiring process to identify solutions and overcome obstacles
• Works well in a team but is confident to also work independently
• Shows enthusiasm for identifying and engaging top talent for our organisation
• Takes ownership and works pro-actively to achieve objectives
• Is comfortable operating in accordance with laws, regulations and policies
• Will gain and retain all the police/security clearances required within our industry
• Has the ability to pass any required health and medical assessments
• Has the capability to work within a correctional centre
• Has proven rights to work in Australia
• Has a willingness to undergo alcohol and drug testing as required of the business
• Demonstrates the ability to maintain professional boundaries within a correctional setting
