The International Director is a key member of our Visitor Economy and Corporate Affairs team and leads a dedicated team of specialists to execute, measure, and report on international marketing activities, aligning with our goal of growing the Gold Coast visitor economy. Key responsibilities include providing strategic guidance, nurturing relationships with trade and aviation partners globally, and overseeing business planning, project management, and team development.
What You'll Do:
Spearhead the Company's international marketing strategy through effective collaboration and partnerships with government bodies (i.e. TEQ), trade & aviation industry partners, and internal marketing teams.
Support Gold Coast destination marketing/trade initiatives and secure opportunities to increase quality, quantity and reach of in-market initiatives.
Prepare budgets, management reports, and evaluate outcomes of international marketing efforts.
Maximize leveraging opportunities for cooperative marketing activities with external partners.
Lead and develop a small team of international marketing specialists, empowering them to reach their full potential.
What You'll Bring:
- Senior-level experience in the delivery of organisation-wide, integrated international, trade-based marketing initiatives.
- A strong ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, and team members to be flexible and adaptive, to deliver on marketing opportunities as they arise.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the international leisure tourism markets is preferable or demonstration of how relevant related experience will enable the candidate to very quickly acquire such knowledge is required.
- Demonstrated ability to think cross functionally work collaboratively to deliver strategic marketing plans.
- Strong budgeting and performance metric skills, including reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An extensive network of tourism and corporate industry relationships, together with a strong knowledge of the domestic, international and specifically the Queensland and Gold Coast tourism industry and its relationship to the international environment from an inbound perspective will be highly desirable.
