CMC are hiring! We have a permanent opportunity for an International Settlements Administrator to join our Business Operations department in our Barangaroo, Sydney office. Please note that we operate onsite working and would need someone to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.

This position is only open to Sydney based candidates with full working rights (e.g. Permanent Resident/Citizen).

CMC Markets Stockbroking (CMC) provides retail and wholesale stockbroking services including trading, clearing and settlement of transactions. Services are provided to a large base of retail clients, as well as customers of a number of banking and financial partners through a white label service offering.

ROLE PURPOSE

The International Stockbroking settlements team is responsible for settlement of International equity transactions, processing of International custody related tasks and corporate actions. The role is primarily administration focussed as well as risk management and providing support to the wider business. Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to pick up new concepts quickly are critical to this role.

Retail settlements cross training will be encouraged at a later stage.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is team based, where the successful applicant can expect to be working on the following tasks, subject to the direction/requirements of the team on a day to day basis:

International Settlement Tasks:

  • Realigning securities between CMC custody and international transfer agents

  • Settlements, processing and closing buy/sell contract notes

  • Custody holdings administration

  • Custody account reconciliations

  • Corporate action processes including protections

  • Client position reporting

  • Manage settlement obligations

  • Foreign market transfers

  • Control reporting

  • The ability to identify and escalate risk in a timely manner as appropriate

  • Answering queries from internal stakeholders and contacts

General Responsibilities:

  • Documentation of key processes and suggestions for continual process improvement

  • Adherence to agreed service levels

  • Filing

  • Work varying hours within an agreed roster

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Prior stockbroking industry experience with equity processing

  • Familiar with ASX rules and compliance requirements for CHESS sponsorship and processes

  • Conceptual understanding of the market and CHESS workflow is essential

  • Experience with Microsoft office products especially Excel skills with advanced VBA preferable

Desirable:

  • Experience with GBST Shares

  • Experience with GBST DCA or a similar options back office system

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a stockbroking back office role

  • Detailed knowledge of International Custody arrangements, Settlements, Options and Corporate Actions

  • RG-146 certification

  • Must be well-organised and able to prioritise daily tasks to meet deadlines

  • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously whilst working to strict deadlines

  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts

  • Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and customers where required
