Welcome to the National Store Loss Team
Playing a critical role in the Loss Insights team; this role exists to support the Store Operations team with incident response as well as proactive measures to reduce workplace violence and organised retail crime (ORC). Lead and coach investigations, and manage a security guard portfolio and loss prevention officers, across NSW. You will be the SME and provide supervision and guidance for store security systems, including CCTV, alarms and electronic article surveillance (EAS).
Support and implement strategies on reducing violence in the workplace, organised theft, fraud and stock loss. You will also recommend and implement corrective actions to reduce risk of recurrence of these and support business initiatives through project management. Work closely with external stakeholes (e.g. Police and Loss Partners) and in-store teams to educate and coach to manage incidents and investigations which relate to their stores.
What you'll do
This role is based in Sydney, NSW and will entail regular travel to local stores, as well as regional locations, including a rotating on-call roster. As the conduit for our store teams, state management, and external partners, you will be responsible for:
- Responding to serious security incidents, supporting stores in post-incident recovery and understanding the root cause of- and implementing initiatives to stop recurring events
- Investigation and analysis of incidents, identifying contributing factors and emerging trends particularly with ORC and workplace violence
- Report, document and escalate results of incident investigations, provide ongoing support to stores
- Lead and coach investigations, as required, in accordance with employment law and the Woolworths Complaints Handling Standard, include internal whistleblower complaints (using SpeakUp platform), serious misconduct, and product contamination
- Conduct high quality respondent interviews, obtaining statements and preparation of briefs of evidence
- Overseeing and rostering static guards and loss prevention officers where there is a need for team safety and to prevent loss
What you'll bring
Reporting to our National Investigations Manager, this role will flourish with the following skills/experiences:
- 3-5 years experience leading major and complex workplace investigations, and within the security industry, with a background in loss prevention well regarded
- Understanding of workplace violence, loss and organised theft
- Demonstrated stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills for all levels of Operations
- Ability to used balanced judgement and understanding of current processes in order to favour ideas and initiatives, applicable to stores
- Ability to manage a large and complex workload, prioritising as required
- Experience with- and management of high-risk situations
