Job Description
Your new role
We’re looking for people who have a real drive to make a difference—for our customers, for each other, and for CSC.
As an Analyst you will join our Investment Operations team in Canberra. You will be part of the Investment Performance & Data Analytics (P&DA) functions, supporting both CSC Investment team in Sydney and Investment Operations team. P&DA comprises a range of functions providing essential investment and business operations services such as fund performance reconciliation and reporting, regulatory compliance, portfolio rebalancing and investment costing.
The position would suit either someone who has worked in an Investment Operations function, or someone with a financial services operations or investment background who has a desire to move into an investment operational role. We also welcome applicants from a data analyst background with industry knowledge and strong analytical skills.
Some of the role’s key duties include:
Risk control:
Ensure the core control framework is operating efficiently and operational risk across the team’s processes is minimised.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing key controls across the processes including Fund performance reconciliation and reporting, regulatory requirements, and portfolio rebalancing.
On-going management of core tasks and reporting:
Support the preparation, monitoring and delivery of the daily fund rebalancing, weekly liquidity forecasts and effective exposure (leveraging) and counterparty exposure.
Maintain robust reconciliations for the investment performance reporting services and the reports delivery to stakeholders within required timeframes.
Support the collation of investment data for survey houses and the ongoing monitoring and implementation of regulatory requirements, policies, peer comparisons for compliance.
Support the digital capability uplift projects as required.
Establishing and maintaining relationships:
Well-developed communications and engagement skills
Work effectively in your team and with other teams to manage expectations and delivery timeframes.
Build and maintain strong relationships to deliver key information to internal and external stakeholders.
Achieving quality results:
With your strong quality assurance mindset and attention to detail you will vigilantly review the team’s reporting to ensure it is robust, timely and accurate. Equally, you will produce high quality outputs at a similar standard, together with accurate, logical, clear research and analysis so that clear results can be achieved.
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll need to excel
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting / Finance (required) with industry or post graduate qualifications in Accounting or Finance (e.g. CA, CPA, CFA etc.)
Methodical and accurate attention to detail; confident in identifying and addressing issues/inaccuracies.
High proficiency, knowledge, and experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including advanced Excel skills and formula knowledge.
Well-developed written and clear verbal communication skills, with the ability to transform ideas or concepts into outcomes.
Strong analytical ability, judgment, and interest in continuous learning; competence in processing and reporting on numbers and data with high accuracy.
