A leading and crucial state government organisation in Cairns CBD is seeking an IT Application Support Analyst (focusing on clinical and medical systems/applications) to work within the team responsible for supporting this organisations critical applications! Underpinning the day-to-day operations, your role is crucial to not only this teams success but the organisation as a whole.
Your new role
Established many years ago to service the needs of Queenslanders all throughout the state, whilst being headquartered in Brisbane, this crucial government organisation is seeking to increase its digital offerings expanding their digital applications capabilities here in Far-North QLD! Whilst based in Cairns and working in this regions domain, you will be liaising with counterparts across the state with occasional travel if and when required.
Working within the Digital Applications Directorate and reporting into the Far-North's Digital Applications Manager in Cairns, your new role will see you work within this specialised and multi-disciplinary team of Application Support Analysts to conduct a range of highly crucial duties for those across the region. Being hands on, your work will revolve around supporting the end users of several crucial medical and clinical solutions that underpin the operations of this organisation. From resolving technical issues (password resets, application integrations, etc) to rolling out software updates, your role with be extremely varied.
Not limited to just this, this role will also see you ensure SLA's are met, tickets ques are cleared, documentation is maintained and users are upskilled to safeguard against future issues.
Regarding the applications this role supports, it will vary from record keeping software to inventory tracking solutions. Due to this wide breadth, rather than seeking candidates that have supported specific software(s), this organisation are after those that have worked in supporting applications in general. From this whilst not a necessity, government experience would be beneficial due to the process involved.
Although your geographical remit will be wide, you will work from the Cairns based HQ (with occasional travel required as and when required). This will see you interact with many departments/stakeholders to be able to identify and deliver substantial benefits from a leadership and overall technical perspective.

What you'll need to succeed
For this role you will need experience across the following:
- Software and Application Support
- The Microsoft eco system
- ITIL and/or ITSM
- Strong understanding of the use and benefits of IT in an enterprise environment
- Technical documentation
- Working with stakeholders of all levels
- Clear communication skills (written and oral)
- Full Australian working rights
What you'll get in return
You will be offered an initial six month contract (up until the 01/11/2024 with potential to extend) with a leading and crucial state government organisation in Cairns CBD paying in accordance with AO4 (54.34 to $59.59 + super per hour).
Note: Remote work is not available for this position, it is to be based in Cairns, Queensland.
