The IT Consultant - Communications is responsible for delivering high level network infrastructure services to the Department of Health, using best practices from the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. The Consultant will provide expert troubleshooting, operational solutions, network architectures, procedures and recommendations to key stakeholders and management with awareness of a Whole-of-Government (WoG) service provider framework.The Role: * Provide high-level consultancy, research and development, network architecture design and associated integration services as related to ICT communications technologies for the Communications Group, ICT management, DoH clients.
- Maintain and develop network monitoring and management tools, logs and reporting systems to verify the performance of network services delivered to DoH.
- Undertake specific projects and tasks within ICT Services as required by the Manager - Office of the Chief Information Officer.
- Maintain and improve the Group's service support processes including the development of networking policy, standards, procedures and work instructions.
- Assist the Team Leader, Network Communications by allocating and prioritising the Group's tasks and providing technical leadership, mentoring, coaching and professional development of team members and other branch staff.
