Our client currently outsources its IT Infrastructure to an external team. Our client is looking for an IT Infrastructure Officer to work in their Sydney head office with the right attitude, knowledge, experience, and skills to be part of their team that drives strategy implementation across all business operations.
Role Overview
The IT and security Officer role has been developed to deliver on-site support to set up subscription management, establish and maintain our domains, Microsoft licences and accounts, email address, general IT support, and cyber security; this role requires efficient administration and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
The IT and Security Officer position has the following duties and responsibilities:
- AWS management and maintenance include migrating, running, and supporting all the infrastructure. Include change requests, patch management, security, and backup services.
- Microsoft 365 and business suites licence management, set up, training and staff support.
- Microsoft Admin centre management, security, password management, access control management
- Website, hosting, and domain management
- understand terminology and concepts related to AWS services.
- Skills to Navigate the AWS Management Console
- Thorough understanding of key concepts of AWS security measures and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Knowledge of AWS database and storage, including Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).
- Basic knowledge of common data centre architectures and components (servers, networking, databases, applications, and so on).
- Knowledge to execute basic tasks to assist the global administrator.
- Password management, check Office 365 service health, and add or remove general user accounts.
- SharePoint administration: manage SharePoint behaviour, such as storage and collaboration activities, through the SharePoint admin centre.
- Service administration: open and handle support requests with Microsoft related to Office 365 services.
- Ability to purchase and change services, manage Office 365 subscriptions, manage support tickets, and monitor service health.
- Staff IT and Network set up and training skills.
- Subscription and account management.

- Has a tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent experience as essential.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience with AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Industry certifications are desirable (Microsoft, AWS, VMWare).
- Experience with SaaS and IaaS cloud solutions.
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and VMWare virtualisation environments.
- Experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery environments such as Veeam and NetApp backups.
