About the Role
OBT is going through a growth phase, and you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and grow the service delivery team. You will be responsible for delivering against a range of IT requirements in this varied role. As well as providing your service skills and expertise to create long-term partnerships with clients through successful delivery and communication.
In the beginning this role requires a hands-on approach and a thorough technical understanding of development practices, methodologies and standards to enable this position to drive throughput, identify opportunities for efficiencies and help facilitate innovative new development practices.
Duties:
- Provide IT support for service delivery and resolve technical issues.
- Provide onsite support at client location on behalf of service delivery team and resolve technical issues when required.
- Knowledge of servers, storage and associated hardware.
- Reasonable experience working with virtualised environments such as VMWare/Hyper-V.
- Experience with acting as an escalation point for complex/high impact issues.
- Ensuring timely and quality delivery of technical support services.
- Ensuring efficient use and data integrity of the Service Desk, adhering to SLAs while taking proactive measures for improved performance/efficiency.
- Help grow and supervise Service Desk team and provide coaching and mentorship.
- Participate in project work of a varied nature for OBT and our clients.
- Assist with technical pre-sales advice when required.
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
- Microsoft Office 365 Certifications.
- Strong understanding of core Microsoft systems, including Office 365, Windows, Active Directory, Azure, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with Exchange and Citrix.
- Knowledge of Networking Protocols including Routing, Switching, LAN/WAN (Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, etc).
- Exposure to Cloud Solutions (Azure).
- Advanced Windows Server skills.
- Group Policy & Scripting.
- Experience in Migrations (desired).
- Advanced proven troubleshooting skill.
- Hyper-V or ESX (ideally both).
- Experience with Firewall/Network Security (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, IPS, and VPN) is favourable.
- Ability to relate well with clients, management, peers and vendors.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with high-pressure situations.
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
