ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The IT Project Lead will be responsible for the planning and execution of strategic initiatives in line with the organisation’s corporate vision. This will include day to day tasks such as configuring and maintaining technological infrastructure systems to ensure they meet the organisations business needs.

Moreover, this person will be evaluating existing systems and determine ways to better align these to support business operations for increased efficiency; as well as ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and achieve the intended business benefits.

Finally, it is expected that the suitable candidate can proactively manage and apply mitigation techniques to risks as necessary.

In this role, key day to day activities will be:

  • Analyse applications and IT solutions to make recommendations in line with the organisation’s business system strategy.
  • Apply change management practices to the project in order to increase the likelihood of success.
  • Accurately record and manage project budget expenditure within the agreed delegation limit.
  • Apply relevant quality assurance practices to ensure deliverables are being completed to standard and project activities are carried out according to best practice.
  • Produce and maintain a range of IT and project related documentation.
  • Assist in transitioning projects to support including preparing handover documentation and coordinating handover sessions with operations/support.
  • Manage a small team of Digital experience partners
  • Communicate IT issues, project updates, resolutions and enhancements to the business.
  • Maintain close relationships with MSP and external vendors.
  • Manage cyber security controls and disaster recovery plan and regularly review the structure in place.
  • Coordinate and manage IT infrastructure including implementation and coordination of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage the business hardware ordering, management and stock-take.

ABOUT YOU

You will have prior experience in a similar role, ideally in the non for profit space. You will have demonstrated ability to operate in a manner consistent with corporate and ethical values. We are looking for a person who is proud of providing timely assistance to employees where necessary to assist with ownership and uptake of solutions.

Finally, you will work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to build trusting relationships.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

You will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualifications in Information Technology and/or Project Management
  • Change management qualification or training
  • In-depth experience and understanding of implementing software applications
  • Working experience in business and functional requirement gathering and documentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the agility to work well with technical and non-technical resources
  • Ability to own and see tasks through to completion with minimal or without guidance
  • Proven ability to achieve results working in a fast paced and dynamic environment Ability to respond to multiple deadlines and resolve risks and issues that arise in accordance with the organisation’s risk management framework
  • Strong customer satisfaction focus and proven experience in delivering excellent solutions
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and Business Intelligence tools highly desirable
