It Project Manager - Contract - Sydney

About the role

In this role you will be an experienced IT Project Manager to assist in the delivery of a key digital transformation initiative across on of NSW Government's organsations which is critical to public services. 

You will be working leading and planning the scope and delivery of multiple key projects on a challenging and long-term and strategic priority. This role will sit within the Customer Experience Team reporting into the Director.

This role is a greenfield project and requires someone who has a proven track record on implementing a project from inception phase through to delivery. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Project Management and implementation in addition to overseeing and preparing plans and documentation.
• Ensure that the standard governance and reporting frameworks are set up to achieve outcomes on time and to budget in line with the organisation's methodology.
• Maintain and update project schedules.
• Ensuring that project risks are identified, documented and managed.
• Collaborate with key technical and business stakeholders at all levels to ensure quality outcomes.

Skills / Experience Required: 

• At least 7+ years’ experience working in an IT Project Manager role delivering multiple concurrent projects. 
• Strong experience working across greenfield projects.
• Experience working across NSW Government would also be highlybeneficial with good understanding of best practice and legislation. 
• Experience working across customer service and user-centered design projects with IT systems and customisation. 
• Expertise around managing project SLAs and working to budgets including CAPEX and OPEX management.
• Strong experience with various project methodologies in an agile and waterfall environment.
• Good experience in change management and ability to work under pressure. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid vendor and stakeholder management skills up to C-level and ability to translate technical language to the business teams.
