About the team
Working in an Agile Environment, the Security Architect will play a crucial role in designing, evaluating, and maintaining the security infrastructure across Auto & General. Providing guidance, architectural advice to the business, technology and the security teams will form part of the responsibilities needed to ensure the successful delivery of software and supporting infrastructure with a cloud first approach in general terms. More specifically the role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive security strategies that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Auto & General’s information assets.
This role sits at the intersection of Security, Infrastructure & IT Operations and Development teams and requires a keen eye for continuous innovation and process improvements to deliver secure, reliable, efficient solutions for Auto & General customers. A key function of this role will be to reduce time to market for specific AI innovations and initiatives.
Successful candidates will be:
- Comfortable in influencing and communicating with all stakeholders about Security, Development, Cloud Services and Architecture practice and subsequent culture shifts.
- Passionate about Security/Cloud/Automation and have a keen interest to solve complex problems in a systematic approach.
- You take ownership of a situation by being inclusive, collaborative with a positive attitude, and know how to iterate through a problem quickly.
- You enjoy collaborating closely with your peers, Delivery, Development, and DevOps teams to drive continuous improvements/deployments/initiatives.
- Mindset for continuous learning and adapting to the ever-changing technology landscape.
- You have excellent people and communication capabilities to collaborate with all levels of stakeholders to drive a customer-first approach and ensure successful business outcomes from a Security Architecture aspect.
- Document, review, and update architecture materials
- Participate and contribute to Auto & General architectural ceremonies (working groups & forum)
Technical skills
- First class interpersonal skills with the ability to build consensus and articulate a strategy.
- Demonstrated experience in software development, infrastructure, and Cloud as an Architect on large complex systems.
- Expertise in building and designing cloud platform/solution that enables rapid delivery of high-quality software.
- Current knowledge of security tools and capabilities
Knowledge of cloud automation tools, infrastructure as Code (Iac) (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation
- Knowledge of building and maintaining sophisticated CI/CD Pipelines & automation with tools like (Gitlab, bitbucket, bamboo, Jenkins, SonarQube, etc).
- Knowledge of git, branching strategy, and release process.
- Knowledge of implementation and design of AWS cloud solutions, serverless architecture, and AWS Well Architected Framework in a commercial enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of implementing Security, Development, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and their requirements.
