About the Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual to work as part of our team providing IT support services to staff at the Submarine Training & Systems Centre on Garden Island. In this role you will support users, maintain hardware, software and back-end infrastructure for a range of specialist networks. If you love innovation you will also have the opportunity to provide advice and assistance to bring new training technologies on line while recommending improvements to how we provide IT services. ASC’s IT services directly support the delivery of high-quality training to the next generation of Navy’s submarine crews. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside civilian ASC staff and uniformed Navy personnel in a supportive workplace with an important role delivering Australia’s submarine capability.
Responsibilities
Activities will include network maintenance, configuration changes, account administration, maintaining asset registers and services together with day-to-day user helpdesk and hardware support. You will follow a combination of Defence and ASC policies and procedures, particularly with regard to security and customer service standards.
About you
- Proactive attitude with excellent ability to provide IT customer service.
- Confident communicator who can respond to users at all levels including experienced Navy staff, entry level trainees, ASC staff and a range of stakeholders across Defence.
- Ability to learn and understand both Commonwealth and ASC IT system processes.
- Ability to understand the configuration, purpose and requirements of a range of networks.
- Develop knowledge of training products delivered by ASC, providing IT support to ensure training delivery is prioritised.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
