Following are some of the skill areas which are desirable in the role but a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a desire to be a part of a dynamic team are also highly considered.
Skills and areas of expertise:
- Great scripting skill in PowerShell for the automation of manual tasks
- Bachelor degree in electronic/computer Systems Engineering, computer science, information technology, or related fields
- 6+ years’ experience in an IT Systems Engineer role
- Current Windows or relevant experience at MCSE level for Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
- At least 2 years of experience with database administration for MSSQL server
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools, backups, restores and recovery models.
- Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
- IT security
- Microsoft patching including CVE investigation
- MS Exchange administration including PowerShell scripting
- Network skills including firewall, router and switch
- VMware ESX/ESXi Servers – 7.0
- MS AD 2016/2019, MS Exchange 2016 and above
- The hardening process of an operating system
- Server hardware management
- SAN based environments
- Management of backups and server patching
- Release management, test plans, testing, user acceptance testing and change management
- Creation of technical documentation and review

In addition the following would be an added advantage:
- Experience of working in a PCIDSS, SOC2 or ISO 27001 environment
As an infrastructure support department, we work together as a team to provide support 24/7 to the business. This requires us to work on an on-call rotation basis. To provide this support you are required to have a current driver’s licence and a vehicle and live within 30 minutes of the office.
You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident currently living in Australia and keen to move to the stunning Gold Coast or already live here.
