About the opportunities:
As Job Coach, you will form part of a wider team that get a real buzz out of helping people develop and achieve their end goal of gaining further skills and confidence, and ultimately, sustainable employment.
You will manage your own caseload of jobseekers, assisting them to overcome various personal barriers that have been preventing them from gaining employment, and work with local employers to find innovative ways to support your clients into work.
You will be professional and able to work within procedural guidelines, using a database to log details, notes and create progress reports on each client. In addition, you will be required to source job opportunities for your clients within the local community through business development activities and networking. The role is targeted and has KPIs around sustainable job placements that meet clients’ needs and expectations.
Roles can be based on site at either Queanbeyan or Belconnen. The successful candidate will be required to cover two sites, including potentially Canberra or Woden.
A very competitive salary package is offered, including not for profit salary sacrificing (for tax savings). A pool car is available for travel between sites.
To be successful you should have:
- Previous experience in a similar role and an understanding of the Employment Services sector (desirable).
- Applicants with transferable skills from a sales or customer service background are also encouraged to apply.
- The ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process.
- Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity, and compassion.
- Out-going, self-motivated, with the ability to build rapport.
- Good IT skills
- An insight and understanding into the significant barriers facing people living with a disability and long-term unemployment.
- A results and outcomes focused approach and the ability to work to KPIs and targets.
- Excellent time management and organisational ability.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent networking skills with the ability to conduct business development activities with local business and community organisations.
- A driving licence and a willingness to travel locally.
