Simmons Livingstone & Associates is a professional Accounting firm on the Gold Coast. We are a growing accounting practice with a proactive, young team. We specialise in a diverse range of services including accounting and taxation, business advice, taxation planning & advisory, superannuation, succession planning and management accounting services.
Because of our high standards of customer services, and continued high growth we are seeking a full-time Junior accountant.
The ideal applicant will be working towards or have completed the required Australian accounting degree.
Applicants must be self-driven, confident and have effective oral and written communication skills.
The Role
In this position you will work on end to end tax compliance work for a range of entity structures which will include individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies. With a diverse client base you will have exposure to working with a variety of different industries.
In this position, you will work closely with the partners and report to senior staff, you will also receive support and guidance from colleagues of all levels.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Work alongside our Principals and Managers as we provide value to our clients;
- End to end tax compliance work for a range of clients;
- Liaising with and being a point of contact for clients;
- Liaising with the accounting team and ATO to follow up and assist in resolving client queries;
- Arranging client meetings and diary management;
- Recording and updating client details in our databases;
- Preparing and sending forms via fusesign;
- Processing forms for electronic lodgement;
- Assisting with tax agent administration of client list;
- Prepare financial statements, monitor Key Performance Indicators and assist in creating goal setting strategies for our clients;
Skills/Experience Required
- 1+ years experience in an accounting office;
- Knowledge of computer packages including FYI docs, Handisoft, Xero, Microsoft Office preferred but not essential;
- Display initiative and self-confidence;
- Analytical and problem solving skills;
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment;
- High attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Enthusiasm to develop a rewarding career;
