The Role:
Opportunity for an aspiring data professional to build experience at a growing software company, in a friendly, diverse, and hardworking data team. This contract-based role involves acquiring and integrating publicly available data into our proprietary data sets. This role does not involve software development/coding.
What You'll Do
- Work with product managers to understand the Web-scrape requirements
- Configure Web-scrapes using a cloud-based SaaS tool
- Configure ETL pipelines to load data into our MDM platform
- Work with product managers to make sure that the required quality is met
- Prior experience with Web-scraping
- Basic understanding of: Regular expressions, Git, and Google Chrome Developer Tools
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow written instructions, seek clarification where needed, and assess the output of a Web scrape against the written requirements
- Ability to document work
- Prior experience with/understanding of:
- Web scraping platforms, such as Mozenda
- XPath selectors
- Document Object Model (DOM)
