The Role:
We are looking for a graduate / Junior Data Analyst to join our data team on a full-time 6 month contract with possibility of extension to be data stewards as a pivotal, frontline role within the education, health and retirement living sectors. The graduate / Junior Data Analyst will be responsible for transforming, validating, extracting, and analysing data with the objective of delivering insights to clinical and operational decision-making for clients and management.
With a firm grasp of the technology, the intention would be for the role to working alongside a team of 6 with an average tenure of over 5 years - develop skills on the job towards a sound understanding of the solution and value creation. With potential pathways into master database management, data analytics and data science. This role is based in Sydney CBD.
Skills:
Analytical Skills: Confidence in working daily with large amounts of data in foreign data structures to extract, transform and load (ETL) the information as required.
Communication Skills: Must communicate methodology and findings clearly and concisely with team members and relevant colleagues.
Attention to Detail: The conclusions drawn from this data analysis will drive critical business decisions. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount.
Maths Skills: Understanding of basic statistical methods and when to use what.
Programming Skills: An understanding of programming logic, although no experience with a specific programming language is required. Familiarity with Python, R, SQL and Microsoft Excel will be an important part of the Data Analyst role.
Overall Knowledge/Abilities:
- Comfortable working with clients, team members, and other stakeholders in the organisation
- Can interpret, translate and apply their intent through data
- Demonstrates the ability to handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure
- Able to take initiative and function independently after guidance
- Demonstrates good communication skills
- Background knowledge in building fabric and services preferable but not a requirement
