ALWAYS LIVE is a unique and breathtaking annual live music program that further enhances our state’s extraordinary reputation.

ALWAYS LIVE programming showcases Victoria and Melbourne to the world as Australia’s live music capital. Combining global headline acts with a diverse range of local talent to produce live music performances and events across November- December each year, ALWAYS LIVE is a unique, annual program of exceptional live music experiences and provides a unified platform for industry development events and grassroot development initiatives.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Junior Designer / Content Co-Ordinator (JD/CC) is responsible for developing and delivering a range of designed assets and Content in-line with marketing strategies and event marketing plans formed by the wider ALWAYS LIVE marketing team.  Working closely with the Senior Brand Designer, Marketing and Programming teams, this role is at the intercept of design and Content output for the ALWAYS LIVE brand, it’s partnered events and owned activations. Key to this role is the ability to take a concept brief and deliver with speed and attention to detail. Core to the role is supporting the wider ALWAYS LIVE team in delivering key outcomes across all aspects of the initiative – from the ALWAYS LIVE website, key program announcements, campaigns, owned and partner events, internal projects and more. The JD/CC is an experienced self-starter, ready to tackle any project head-on.

This role is a fixed term contract position until the end of the ALWAYS LIVE 2024 Season in December 2024.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Summary

  • Assist in delivery of marketing strategies and event marketing plans as outlined by the ALWAYS LIVE marketing team. 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to deliver a range of assets and Content across ALWAYS LIVE's channels (Owned, Paid & Earned); these outcomes will be generated for the ALWAYS LIVE master brand, partner events and owned activations to support ALWAYS LIVE's broader marketing strategy for 2024.  
  • Ideation of unique, engaging and relevant content across ALWAYS LIVE owned channels including organic social media, eDM and 'Noise' blog page. 
  • Creation of owned channel content in collaboration with the internal team network and external stakeholders including partners and festival contractors. 
  • Support business operations across all internal departments where required.  

Design

  • Develop and design assets across all areas of the ALWAYS LIVE initiative. 
  • Prepare assets for key ALWAYS LIVE announcements through-out the year, this will include activity across all ALWAYS LIVE owned channels, as well as activation / event signage where required.  
  • The JD/CC will assist in rolling out of the ALWAYS LIVE 2024 marketing campaign across all paid channels; this will include social, paid programmatic, BVOD, publishers & OOH.
  • Moving closer to the season, the JD/CC will assist in generating in-season collateral, signage, digital screens and merchandise that will be deployed across all ALWAYS LIVE events. 
  • Where required, develop, and execute collaborative assets for our principal, festival and community partners. 
  • Assist in the execution of all ALWAYS LIVE Owned event assets. This will include. 
  • The roll-out of activation sub-brands across all owned channels in collaboration with the internal team, external stakeholders, including partners and festival contractors.  
  • Asset roll-out for dedicated owned event paid campaigns; this will likely include social, paid programmatic, BVOD, publishers & OOH. 
  • Moving closer to the season, the JD/CC will assist in generating in-season activation specific collateral and signage to be deployed across all ALWAYS LIVE owned events. 

Content Creation & Co-ordination

  • Co-ordination of content on the ALWAYS LIVE website.
  • Back-end website management.
  • Maintenance of website functionality in partnership with external web developer.
  • Be the primary point of contact for our external web developer.
  • Assist the Marketing partnerships and Content coordinator in capturing content for ALWAYS LIVE's Owned Channels.  
  • Develop relevant concepts, scripts and storyboards for video content projects.
  • Facilitate and coordinate on-site shoots where required for video content projects.
  • Video editing for Owned Channel Content, in collaboration with the Marketing Co-Ordinator. 
  • Animation & video editing skills to assist in the generation of assets for master brand and owned event activity. 
  • Work with external videographers / photographers to edit and develop show/event specific video assets, wrap reels and packages for media and short and long form content pieces.

General Marketing Support 

  • Merch coordination, inventory, and distribution. 
  • Invoicing/general administrative assistance. 
  • Community management of *****@alwayslive.com.au
  • Media/Folder Management. 
  • Coordination of festival content contractor output in collaboration with other marketing team members. 

Other

  • Occasional work outside of office hours including evenings and weekends during festival season.
  • From time to time, other duties outside the scope of this position description reasonably based on skills and experience.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Design Specialist: A design led professional, capable of delivering exceptional projects from brief to go-live. Demonstrated ability to ideate, conceptualise and deliver across a range of designed assets and outcomes. Strong desire to collaborate with other team members to achieve strong outcomes across creative projects. 
  • Content Creation Experience: A strong creative eye when it comes to content creation. Has proficient skills in concept development, hands-on with production, and a swift editor in post-production. A willingness to work with the marketing team to capture and edit content the speaks to the ALWAYS LIVE marketing brand and strategy.
  • Content Co-ordination: Proven experience in website content management and using a CMS. 
  • Planning and Organising: Adopts and implements processes, manages tasks effectively and meets key deadlines to achieve desired project outcomes.
  • Quality of output: High level of attention to detail across all development assets and Content.
  • Team player: Well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team with management, other staff members and external stakeholders.

 EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has 2-3 years of experience in graphic design, content creation and co-ordination.
  • Highly proficient design skillset across digital & print mediums.
  • Experience in content creation, co-ordination, video production, animation, and editing. 
  • Ability to use design and Content tools including the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and After Effects) & Figma.
  • Prior experience using a website CMS. 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
