Duties & Responsibilities
- Acquire and apply knowledge of relevant building codes and legislation including, but not limited to, the NCC, QDC, Australians Standards, Local Authority Planning Schemes, Plans of Development and Covenant Design Guidelines for single and two storey homes as well as low-rise unit developments.
- Develop and apply knowledge of NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation Design Standard Requirements.
- Produce preliminary plans for sale contracts including Site & Floor Plans and Elevations which comply with all relevant building codes and developer covenant requirements.
- Produce brochure floor plans for marketing purposes.
- Manage priorities using organisational skills and effective communication to meet deadlines.
- Produce detailed working drawings for building approvals and construction plans as required.
- Amendment of plans as required.
- Ordering of relevant engineering documents and checking of details/coordination with working drawings as required.
- Produce drawings and documentation within the expectations/guidelines of the Employer.
- Liaising and assisting with estimating department and construction site supervisors.
- Liaising with Building Certifiers as required and assist with RFI’s for building approvals.
- Liaising and assisting with council applications, submissions and development approvals.
- Liaising and assisting with third party consultants, contractors etc.
- Other tasks as reasonably requested by the Employer.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Drafting position within the residential home building market.
- Archi-CAD experience is essential
- Sound understanding & knowledge of the construction industry
- Architectural or Drafting qualifications (preferred)
