Junior Economic Analyst

As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovations that directly benefit the Australian grain industry. 

We are seeking a Junior Economic Analyst based in Canberra.  

Responsibilities

• Support the Economics team with proficient use of excel, power BI, R Studio, SAS and other systems as required. 
• Apply economic theory to agriculture including the use of benefit cost analysis and impact assessments to support investment decisions.
• Bespoke analysis on commodity prices, trade, and financial forecasting. 
• Maintain up to date understanding of key data sources for the grain industry.

Candidate Profile:

• Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Business, or Science with business credentials. Agricultural qualifications or experience is desirable.
• The ability to develop analytical skills and the capacity to provide sound economic analyses.
• The ability to demonstrate presentation skills, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once and re-prioritise as required.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Must be prepared to travel as and when required.
• Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks.
