Our client, a Federal Government agency who coordinate and manage national level emergency responses to natural disasters, are Seeking the experience of a Junior GIS Analyst for a long 12 + 12 month contract, based in Parkes ACT.
Duties of the Junior GIS Analyst
- Produce high quality maps and reports.
- Critically assess complex information and contribute to innovative, sustainable solutions.
- Develop and/or modify workflow processes and automation scripts for geospatial data transformation and analysis using FME, ESRI ArcGIS and/or Python software.
- Provide strategic advice and shaping the delivery of requirements.
- Influence stakeholders, and build and maintain strong relationships across the wider APS.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience using ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise.
- Formal qualifications or equivalent work experience in a field involving applied geospatial data and analysis such as data science, computer science, geospatial science, geomatics, geography, statistics, mathematics, environmental science or related fields.
- Training and/or experience in data management principles, processes, and systems.
- Experience with FME and/or Python (desired).
- Experience in data visualization such as Power BI (desired).
- Experience with SQL (desired).
