We are seeking a motivated and dependable handyman interested in joining the Melbourne installer team of a trusted company in the security doors and Window furnishings industry. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers comprehensive skills training.
As an installer, you'll be ensuring the safety and comfort of the clients by fitting high-quality security doors and Windows. This role combines hands-on work with customer interaction, making it perfect for a skilled handyman who values both technical proficiency and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and service high-quality security doors and Window furnishings for residential and commercial clients.
- Travel to client sites within Melbourne, especially the southeastern suburbs, with occasional trips to regional areas.
- Perform precise measurements, cutting, and installations to ensure perfect product fits.
- Handle logistical tasks, including loading tools and materials, maintaining inventory, and operating a high-roof, long-wheelbase company van.
- Replenish stocks by visiting the manufacturing site in Bendigo at least once a week.
- Keep job sites clean and complete installation tasks efficiently.
- Manage your schedule via a mobile device, transitioning eventually to a tablet-based system.
- Deliver excellent customer service, process payments on-site (wireless POS terminal), and maintain high professional standards.
- Be flexible with working hours, including potential weekend work during busy periods, with fair overtime compensation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in maintenance and handyman tasks.
- Proficiency with various hand and power tools.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive a manual transmission.
- Safe driving history and readiness for periodic licence checks.
- Willingness to undergo police and working with children checks.
- Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
- Construction induction card (Red or White).
- Carpentry or previous install experience is a plus, but not essential.
- Own set of hand and cordless tools.
