Position Summary
The 1st line engineer is responsible for providing the support to clients (onsite and remote). Excellent customer service skills and team players are the most important things to succeed at this company. Heaps of career progression on offer with the opportunity to get involved with several Cyber Security projects.
Responsibilities
- Answer the phones and assist clients remotely with break fix issues and escalate as required.
- Manage the queue and support senior engineers with their workload.
- Setup new users.
- Setup workstations.
- Install software for clients.
- Troubleshoot basic issues for servers, networks, workstations and Microsoft 365.
- Seek advice on how to resolve the issues above and keep increasing knowledge on resolving all service desk issues that arise often.
- Continually seek ways of improving the services offered.
- Review Monitoring system and ticket system for alerts and resolve simple issues that arise. Escalate any tickets that can’t be resolved to the Level 2 engineers.
- Ensure a task is understood before it is performed.
- Ensure all your tickets are up to date each day and the client has regular communication.
- Ensure all process is always followed when dealing with any task assigned to a ticket.
