Position Overview: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Junior Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in testing samples for asbestos content, contributing to our mission of safeguarding the environment and public health.
Responsibilities:
Routine preparation and analysis of building material and soil samples.
Perform asbestos testing using stereo and PLM microscopy.
Maintain accurate records of sample data, test results, and laboratory activities.
Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Understand and uphold general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements as part of ISO/IEC 17025.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols at all times.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
§ Experience in laboratory work would be beneficial.
§ Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
§ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
§ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
§ Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean working environment.
