We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Legal Assistant to join our Intellectual Property, Technology & Cyber Security team. Our team advises on cutting-edge intellectual property and technology issues, including copyright and trade marks, high value IT procurement projects, complex licensing agreements, as well as privacy and data protection.
Your responsibilities/tasks will include but are not limited to:
- end of month billing and general communications with our accounts team;
- liaising with internal staff members, clients and overseas trade mark agents;
- drafting IP Australia forms – extension, expedited exam, deferment, requesting a hearing;
- entering deadlines for various applications and processes into our specialist trade mark management database;
- creating new trade mark, client/agent contacts, dispute and other records in Equinox;
- administrative and reporting duties relating to both foreign and domestic trade mark matters; and
- reviewing and processing all incoming and outgoing mail for patents (IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO)
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Strong attention to detail;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic;
- Willingness to learn;
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Previous administrative or legal support experience considered, but is not required.
