An entry level position is available now for a motivated Junior Personal Assistant to join Rankin Ellison Lawyers in our Newcastle Insurance team.

About the Role

As a Junior Personal Assistant, you will work with our administrative support team to provide support for a Senior Lawyer within our Insurance Team, as you learn our bespoke systems and ways of working. Over time, as you become more proficient, you will undertake direct support for Lawyers within the team.

This permanent full-time position is a great opportunity for anyone looking to start a fulfilling career as a legal Personal Assistant.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • File management and document preparation.
  • Preparing and filing documents. 
  • Managing files through Legal Panel Gateway, Personal Injury Commission, and Supreme & District Court portals.
  • Billing within Lexis Affinity. 
  • Digital dictation. 
  • Liaising with clients and other third parties. 
  • Preparing Briefs.
  • Completing reports for insurer clients. 
  • General administrative duties such as diary, office, and file management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have previous experience in an administration or professional support role, ideally in a legal setting or a closely related field. 
  • Have well developed skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Adobe Pro, Excel). 
  • Have touch typing skills, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate a high level of organisation, focus and attention to detail, together with the capacity to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Have the ability to work independently and take initiative. 
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Have a genuine interest in building a career in legal support.
