With a continued focus on the future, Michael Hill is looking for an energetic and career focussed Junior Planner to join our global Planning Team, here in Brisbane.
This full-time opportunity will be responsible for managing your categories under the leader of our Senior Planning tea, ensuring pre-seasonal promotional and ranging decisions will optimize inventory investment and sales opportunities.
In this hands-on role, your Primary responsibilities will be to:
- Responsible for developing a comprehensive pre-season planning strategy that identifies opportunities and risks for your departments
- Propose assortment strategy, develop promotional and markdown strategies to maximize profitability and sales
- Place New product and Reforecast Core lines in-season based on current performance and business opportunities
- Analyse promotional effectiveness and make future recommendations. Manage the discounting strategy and forecasting promotions for the department
- Complete the MSSI of your category to effectively manage Sales and Profit opportunities, OTB and Closing Stock.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- A strong background in merchandise planning, ideally retail or wholesale industry
- Strong analytical skills
- Advanced Excel ability – join fellow spreadsheet lovers!
- Possess strong communication skills to partner effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work proactively in a team environment with a flexible, can do attitude
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and problem solve
