Reporting to the Production Managerthe Junior Production Manager (Process Owner) is responsible for one of our five factories on site, for all three shifts with a Team Leader and over 30 direct reports (Machine Operators).
Duties include but are not limited to –
- Compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures
- Actively identifying risks and critical items to safely achieve targets and develop strategies to ensure risk elimination/minimisation.
- Plan, manage and control the production area with a focus on safety, quality and productivity
- Production Output and Productivity Inventories, Scrap and Material Usage
- Factory Variable Cost management
- People Management – managing a team of 25+ process workers, Provide training & development
- Implement lean initiatives to build a continuous improvement culture. Using tools such as; visual management, A3's, SMED, and 5S
- Enhancing the capability of the business to achieve improved performance and growth by actively contributing to business and cultural improvement initiatives, encouraging team members to participate and identify barriers to goal achievement.
- Provide engineering support to reduce manufacturing downtime and deviations
- Implement improvement projects to increase process equipment reliability
- Responsible for a 24 hour operation

Additionally you will have:
- 5 years’ experience in a similar position within mechanical, process, plastics engineering
- 2 years’ experience of managing 20+ process workers
- Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across the business from operations to board room
- Proven team member who can maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with colleagues and customers.
- A passion for learning and personal growth, with meaningful focus on industry developments.
- Ability to cope and work with disruption and adapt to changing priorities.

- Have excellent general engineering problem-solving skills and some experience in equipment maintenance
- The ability to motivate others is crucial as is a sound level of technical understanding of manufacturing process, products and machinery.
