AddressMiningCommSteel are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Project Engineer to work in the Perth Metro area and with occasional visits to our China office and facilities.
The successful applicant must have a minimum of 1- 2 years experience in structural steel fabrication for both Mining projects & commercial buildings.
This position will suit an applicant who has high standards and an eye for detail who is looking for a long term future with a young and growing company.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to manage the sub-contract shop drawing process.
- Experience in estimating doing material take offs
- Ability to plan and schedule activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Good computer skills ( proficient in MS word, MS Projects,Excel, Outlook)
- Be willing to be part of a collaborative, high performing team culture.
Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Managing Director the key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Customer Liaison and communication for all drawing modification requests as well as drawing related queries
- Communicating with clients in a effective and respectful manner
- Ensure that all sub - contractors understand the scope of work and assist them to develop a cost effective schedule
- Engaging, motivating and supporting crews / sub-contractors
- Procurement of materials and services
Qualifications / Certificates
Applicants with the below certificates will be viewed favourably or demonstrate that they are willing to obtain.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree
- Good understanding of Engineering and Fabrication drawings
- Experience with AS1554
- Experience with Chinese / offshore fabrication would be an advantage
