Junior Rope and Splicing Technician

Jeyco is an Australian family owned business in the design and supply of quality mooring, towing and rigging equipment for the marine, mining, defence and oil & gas industries. 

We are looking for a Junior Rope Technician - Splicer to join our small production team in Malaga.

This role provides valuable experience in an exciting industry and opportunities to travel within Australia to conduct site repairs, inspections and installation of our Rope and rigging products. All rope splicing and knowledge in products provided by Jeyco Australia.

Responsibilities include: 

• Splicing Rope and assembling rigging/mooring equipment
• Promote a safe and professional workplace
• Packing orders & organising transport inbound and outbound
• Ensure products meet specifications and identify any potential non-conformance
• Always adhere to company QMS providing feedback on areas for potential company improvement or efficiencies
• Inventory management including stocktake, restocking shelves, unloading containers
• Advise staff of potential stock requirements or shortfalls as they are identified
• Operating warehouse winches, power tools and commercial sewing machine
• General yard and warehouse cleaning duties
• Answering phones and covering for office staff on occasions
• Travel to site is required at the discretion of the General Manager

To be successful, you will need to have:

• Australian Driver’s License
• Very strong work ethic and desire to conduct physically demanding work
• Forklift, rigging & MSIC license desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and eye for quality
• Splicing experience would be preferred but not essential
• Excellent time management skills
• Outgoing personality
• Flexible working hours and able to travel at short notice when required
