AddressOTTO Construction Group Pty Ltd is a Commercial Construction and Project Management Company specialising in small to medium retail and commercial infrastructure projects within Victoria.
We are looking for a full-time skilled Junior Site Manager/Foreman with 2+ years’ experience working on commercial and retail projects to join our team.
Duties to include:
Everyday Management of construction site and programme, to effectively and efficiently complete building and fit out works in accordance with the construction documentation, Australian Standards, National Codes, the construction programme and the specific requirements for quality, ensuring that the work is always completed with no defects and to the client’s satisfaction.
Management of subcontractors and suppliers on site, induction of all personnel and plant/machinery on site, ensuring safety of workers on site and signing off on Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS). Ensuring all work carried out in accordance with Safety Plan. Ensure all subcontractors and suppliers coming onto the site understand the conditions of the Site Safety Plan.
Management of all OHS responsibilities via HammerTech portal. Delivery of weekly toolbox meetings, undertaking weekly site HSEQ safety walks and ensuring any observations raised are handled and closed out in a timely manner. Maintenance of a site diary recording all works undertaken, Regular meeting with senior directors and stakeholders to report status of works and address any new observations.
Coordinate and supervise subcontract works in a manner which provides a high level of confidence that the project will be completed by the scheduled handover date.
Maintain a high level of quality in workmanship and finishes throughout the construction of the building and fit-out.
Closely monitor and manage site team and construction works supporting the Project Manager and their endeavour to deliver the project on time to required quality. Continue to develop and monitor the works program to achieve contract deadlines.
Ensure that there is always a safe working environment by working closely with Clients Safety Representative and subcontractors onsite.
EHS
- Formulate, monitor and promote safety procedures for the duration of the project
- Effectively consult with site based EHS committee.
- Regularly review on-site work activities via site safety walks
- Appropriately document and report on safety issues to the Project Manager and EHS team
- Participate in identifying and resolving any unsafe work practices
QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT / DEFECTS
- Monitor and oversee all project trade works for compliance
- Hold progressive inspections, managing identification and rectification of defects
- Have a detailed understanding of project design and drawings
- Ensure inspection and test plans are being implemented for all trades
PROGRAMME DELIVERY
- Setout and establishment of job with key sub contractors
- Continuously monitor and review construction activities and productivity – including duration, procurement, completion status and risk
- Participate in weekly programme status updates
- Establish procurement dates required and review with PM
- Review letting dates and requirements vs construction programme and prelims.
- Monitor trade resources on project to maintain programme schedule.
- Ensure roles and responsibilities of trades and subcontractors are made clear.
- Ensure any relevant action items from meetings are attended to in a timely manner.
- Participate in scheduled meetings with EHS, Site Team, Sub-contractors.
