Junior Web Developer

We are looking for a Junior Front-End Web Developer to join our Adelaide-based team. As a Junior Front-End Web Developer, you will work closely with our design and development teams to create visually appealing and user-friendly web interfaces. Your strong technical skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn will contribute to the successful delivery of innovative web projects. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with designers, back-end developers and project managers to understand project requirements, wireframes and design mockups
• Write clean, efficient and well-structured HTML, CSS and JavaScript code to implement web interfaces that are responsive and visually appealing
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility of web interfaces
• Assist in the integration of back-end technologies and APIs to enable dynamic functionality
• Test and debug front-end code to identify and resolve any issues or bugs
• Stay up-to-date with the latest development trends, techniques and best practices
• Assist in the optimisation of web interfaces for performance and accessibility
• Assist in maintaining code repositories and version control systems
• Collaborate with the digital team to estimate project timelines and contribute to project planning and scoping activities

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Vue (preferred), React or Svelte considered a plus
• Proficiency in responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git) and code repositories
• Understanding of web accessibility standards and best practices
• Basic understanding of back-end technologies and APIs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Eagerness to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest front-end development trends
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively articulate ideas and concepts
• Portfolio or examples of previous front-end web development work is a plus
• Experience with the Shopify platform (theme building, liquid etc) strongly preferred.
• Experience with the PHP language, and associated systems such as Laravel or WordPress is strongly preferred.
