Kafka Event Streaming Specialist required to provide a high degree of technical and analytical assistance in the identification of opportunities and solutions to system integration problems.
They are also responsible for delivering business solutions involving information technology that satisfies agreed customer requirements. A detailed level of knowledge and experience in system and application integration & Event Streaming is required.
The Event Streaming Specialist will be requested to perform either Operational or Project duties. They may be responsible for the operations and stability of the streaming platform. Additionally, they will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of solutions using chosen software on Event Streaming related projects
Technical Requirements
The role will consist of but will not be limited to the following activities and skillsets:
- Expertise in Kafka;
- Familiarity with Kafka Connect and MSK Connectl;
- Technical Writing and analytical skills highly desirable;
- Familiarity with Kafka configuration, fine tuning and best practices;
- Familiarity with Amazon MSK and Confluent Cloud;
- Familiarity with AWS networking, infrastructure, ways of working, security, capacity planning;
- Familiarity with API platforms including the design, development and implementation of Rest APIs with OpenAPI specification;
- Experience in projects that have conducted the Agile practices including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement and Daily Standups; and
- Experience with CI / CD DevOps processes using Terraform and GitHub related products.
Selection Criteria
Selection of the successful bid will be based on the following criteria:
- Degree qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or equivalent industry experience and demonstrated competence appropriate to the position;
- Highly specialised knowledge of Event Streaming technologies including Kafka, MSK and Confluent;
- Detailed level of knowledge and experience in system and application integration;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of ITSM principles;
- High level knowledge and understanding of current methodologies, practices and principles while fostering a culture of continuous improvement;
- Demonstrated experience in managing change, resolving conflicts and analytically assessing risks to ensure operational outcomes are met and deliver positive business outcomes;
- Proven ability to work as a member of a high-performing, motivated and proactive team, as well as work autonomously as required to meet agreed targets and objectives;
- Proven ability to engage at all levels and exercise critical thinking in a complex environment and effectively communicate, negotiate and influence within a dynamic and sensitive multi-business environment; and
- Demonstrates critical thinking and decisiveness by making clear, resolute and reasoned judgements based on logical and well thought out reasoning.
Duration
6-month contract with the option to extend for 6 months.
