An independent supplier of building material products across quality building, plumbing, industrial, hardware and renovation are looking for a Key Account Manager.
Your new role:
The Key Account Manager is responsible for driving income and revenue growth by managing and negotiating client orders, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and selling products and services across various categories. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative sales strategies, managing account credit matters, and ensuring a seamless and personalised service experience for each customer.
Responsibilities:
- Increase revenue by managing client orders, generating leads, qualifying prospects, and selling products and services
- Utilize various sales methods (site visits, cold calling, presentations) to secure sales
- Develop and implement innovative sales strategies and evaluate their effectiveness
- Collaborate with business developers, store management, and specialist department staff to identify local sales opportunities, facilitate quotes and orders, and provide personalized service
- Conduct dual-call visits with specialist partners and preferred suppliers
- Evaluate customer needs and build long-lasting relationships
- Meet personal and team sales targets
- Research accounts, generate sales leads, and follow through
- Attend meetings, trade shows, sales events, and training sessions to stay updated on industry developments
- Maintain and expand the client database within the assigned territory
Experience required:
- Sales experience in tools, hardware or building materials
- Familiarity with various sales techniques and pipeline management
- Confidence in understanding and using data to support local store growth
- Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, follow up on problems, and suggest creative solutions
- Passionate about cultivating client relationships
- Proficient in using MS Suite and basic sales pipeline management tool
