About the role
As a Key Account Manager, your primary responsibility will be to retain and develop profitable business from the business’s existing client base in the assigned territory. Operating across multiple sites within the region, you will focus on enhancing customer retention and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Your contribution will be vital to the company’s growth and overall success. This position goes beyond traditional customer service as it centres around prioritising customers at the core of the business's operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide an exceptional standard of customer service in line with our company values to a portfolio of customers/Key Accounts.
- Manage, build on and retain new and existing customer relationships with ongoing phone, email and face-to-face visits when required.
- Manage customer orders and process customer booking requests.
- Shipping management - monitor shipments to ensure they move as booked and review order status reports providing visibility back to customers.
- Prepare and present proposals to clients and prospective customers as required with customer quotations.
- Internal liaison - collaborate with other branches/departments including internal support to our sales team.
- Respond to customer queries and manage query resolution.
About you
- Experience in account management within the freight forwarding industry
- A high level of understanding of ocean freight
- Have previous experience in account management or sales
- Have a strong track record in delivering excellent customer service through account management
- Demonstrate a background of success in achieving and exceeding targets whilst delivering an outstanding experience in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate business and commercial acumen and financial awareness
- Be motivated and passionate
- Have a strong work ethic and desire to work as a team to help the business succeed
- Demonstrate excellent communication both verbal and written
- Self-motivated and performance-driven
