The Role
As a Kindergarten Assistant at Peninsula Grammar School's Early Childhood Centre, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to young children in their early educational journey. As a Kindergarten Assistant at Peninsula Grammar School's Early Childhood Centre, you'll be an integral part of nurturing and developing young minds. We're seeking passionate individuals to join us on a casual basis, supporting our kindergarten students aged 3-5 years old. Collaborating closely with our Kindergarten teachers, you'll help create a safe, engaging environment for exploration and learning. Responsibilities include assisting with activities, supervising playtime, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. About You
- Previous experience working in a similar role within an early childhood setting
- High School education (VCE or VCAL equivalent)
- Diploma or Certificate III qualification in Children’s Services
- Sound knowledge of early childhood development and education principles
- Ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrated understanding of health and safety regulations in relation to early childhood environments
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise responsibilities
- A nurturing and patient approach when interacting with young children
- Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all children
- Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when required
- Flexibility to work across before and after school care programs and our day classes when required
All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:
- Current Working with Children Check & Police Check (or willingness to apply)
- First-Aid qualifications (HLTAID009 CPR Course, HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid & ASCIA anaphylaxis)
- Child Safety training – (provided by the school)
